The First Communion is the act of receiving Holy Communion for the first time in a person’s life. Usually it is the culmination of instructions and catechism concerning the doctrine, nature, and reality of the Eucharist. Pope Pius X (1903-1914) determined the age at which the Catholic youth could receive their first Holy Communion.
